One piece broke and the heat plate does not heat up hot enough to extract. Very disappointed with this item

Glas ist gut verarbeitet und die Anlage ist schnell aufgebaut und einfach zu bedienen. Gut geeignet für einen schnellen Versuch oder etwas Didaktik. Allein die Heizplatte ist Schrott und ich halte es für fahrlässig diese zu verkaufen/bedienen. Unbedingt eine Heizalternative beschaffen. Die Kabelisolierung hält der Hitze nicht Stand, siehe Bilder. Kein Schützleiter ist montiert, die Platte wird unnötig heiß und die Beine sind ungenau und mangelhaft. Gut gefällt mir der Schneidetrichter in der Anlage damit lässt sich effektiv das Öl trennen. Eventuell ist es dennoch schlauer die Komponenten einzeln zu beschaffen und gleich eine brauchbare Heizplatte/Haube zu nehmen.

Je suis déçue par le système de chaleur, la plaque électrique n'est absolument pas adaptée pour distiller. Donc je ne peux pas distiller. L'inconvénient de ce produit c'est que l'on ne peut pas trouver des pièces de rechange. ex: le ballon de la matière à distiller. Et donc on est obligé de racheter un kit complet.

The distillation kit is pretty cool. I do love the glassware. I wish it came with a bigger and sturdier stand so you could remove the hotplate and adjust things without it falling over. The hotplate is what keeps it propped up. There's a hole in the middle of the stand though. So I'll probably just run a bolt through it into some plywood for stability. I'd have given it a 5/5 rating. But the hot plate releases a lot of toxic smelling smoke the first day you use it. It smells like Teflon. I feel kind of sick after breathing it. But even worse than that, it doesn't get hot enough to boil water. So it's basically just a useless brick. Ended up breathing all that toxic smoke for nothing. You'll need a higher quality hot plate. They make laboratory grade ones that let you dial up to a very specific temperature. Unfortunately, I can't afford one now. But will get one next. Another hotplate complaint, it's so low to the table that it keeps the entire apparatus low. So you can't get a vial under the collection funnel. You need to raise the hotplate a few inches to make the kit really usable. It's a cheap set and doesn't come with a stand for the plate. I made one out of a cooling rack and some ceramic tile to get some clearance. All in all, the glassware seems good. The stand is alright, and easy enough to make stable with simple tools and cheap materials. But the burner is not worth a damn. So I'd recommend this kit if you're interested in distillation. Just add some money to your budget for a burner that actually works. There's no way to attach it to a sink, which is what most people do for their cooling systems. I'm not sure how that's typically done, but you'll need to consider that too. That's no fault of the company though. I've never seen a kit that comes with everything you need to attach to a sink. But I like my idea more, anyway. It keeps the sink and kitchen open for my family to use while I work on my distillation projects. I just bought some extra clear vinyl tubing (also from Vevor) and hooked it up to a nice fountain with a 2 gallon capacity to cycle water through the condenser coil. It looks beautiful and sounds like a little waterfall. Adds to the alchemy lab aesthetic. And guests love to see it. All in all, 3 out of 5. It could be 5 out of 5. But they need to replace the hotplate with one that actually gets hot. This is more of a lukewarm plate

The setup is great, needs a separate pump which is easy enough to find, but the hotplate does not work for the intended use. I can tell if the water actually got to a boil it'd work - but the hotplate isn't really up to the task, even put in a small amount of already heated water and couldn't get going.

The heat source is not sufficent to produce steam. I try, to use the product outside when it was around 35C, and is not working at all.

Idk what to say. I'm very disappointed. The glassware is full of bubbles, scratches and even 2 internal cracks. I doubt it's borosilicate glass. I don't know what others received, but what I got is no high quality as advertised. As they refused my request for return I will try to use it, hoping all will go well. Also delivery was late so I anyway missed neroli, but this happened probably because of Greek courier ACS which is the worst here.

While the distillation unit itself has potential, the user experience is severely hampered by serious omissions in the factory kit and poor performance. Below are the critical points of this reassessment: ​1. Incomplete Kit (No Water Pump) ​The biggest usability flaw is that the kit does not include everything required for immediate operation. The absence of a water pump is inexcusable; without it, the cooling system is useless unless the user already owns extra laboratory equipment. A kit should be an all-in-one solution, not a starting point for more purchases. ​2. Major Sealing Issues ​The brand overlooked the essentials: sealing gaskets (O-rings). ​The Problem: The lack of proper seals makes the assembly process feel archaic and insecure. ​The Critique: It would be much more practical to include silicone seals for the joints rather than some of the less relevant items provided. The lack of airtight sealing leads to significant vapor loss. ​3. Extremely Poor Performance ​The lack of proper sealing and a complete cooling setup directly impacts the results. In a recent test, 8 hours of operation yielded only 8ml of pine hydrosol. For a 2-liter distiller, this yield is unacceptably low and represents a massive waste of time and energy. This confirms that the steam is escaping or not condensing properly due to the flaws mentioned above. ​Conclusion ​Vevor fails to deliver a "ready-to-use" product. It is frustrating to purchase technical equipment only to realize the brand cut corners on basic functional items, resulting in nearly zero productivity. I strongly advise against this purchase due to the lack of seals and the water pump.
