This is a really nicely built thumb, very heavy duty. I actually never installed it because it is just too big for my tiny little excavator

Excellent value bit of kit, transformed my old JCB 801. Should be easy enough to modify it to take a hydraulic cylinder in the future. Good points. Very cheap, I couldn't have bought the materials to make it myself for this cost. Reasonable quality, sure there's no big thick bosses or grease channels, but it's made of thick enough steel that I expect to get a good few hours of use out of it before I expect to see too much wear. Worked straight out of the box, I welded the back plate on and all the holes lined up fine, no fettling as is often needed with cheap products. Powder coating actually seems to be pretty good, usually I find it flakes off easily, but this stuff is well bonded Bad points. If they had just added one more set of holes, then it would be possible to fold the jaws back up out of the way and pin them there. (Brace would still need to be removed and stored, but I find this fits under my seat, so not a big deal). Right now I just tied it in place, I'll plasma cut some extra holes in in the future. But this would have been easier to do on the bench, before welding the back plate to my machine. If you buy, I'd recommend taking some time to work out how you're going to store it when not in use and make all your mods before welding onto your machine. Overall, I'd highly recommend this product, for the money, you can't really go wrong.

I purchased an old Ford 1700 with a Backhoe. The only thing I needed was a thumb. Got a buddy to weld this on and it has been working the way it should. I’m quite hard on it and it seems very durable.

Great product. Used on JD 447 backhoe on a JD 3320 tractor. Not only can I pick up rocks I can crush sandstone. Simple weld on and use. Practice placement with a ratchet strap before welding.

i've had for over a year and it works fantastic. never had anything slip from it's grip.measure for size to get he right one for your machine.mine is on a kubota u17 mini excavator

I welded it on to my 3 ton digger last year. it is as strong as it needs to be. Very safe for Picking things up. Could do with some shims and a better line up of holes for pinning it back out of the way when not needed, Otherwise excellent and Good value for Money.

Ik heb hem vorig jaar aan mijn graafmachine van 3 ton gelast. Hij is zo sterk als hij moet zijn. Heel veilig om dingen mee op te tillen. Er zouden wel wat vulplaatjes en een betere uitlijning van de gaten in kunnen zitten om hem vast te zetten als hij niet nodig is. Verder is hij uitstekend en een goede prijs-kwaliteitverhouding.
