This was my first major purchase from Vevor so I was a little aprehensive as to the quality of their goods. In all fairness I needn't have been, the vacuum chamber was sizeably bigger than I had in my head not being familiar with anything gallon based (being in the uk). It was plenty big enough for my usage and assembly was a breeze I cannot fault this product in the slightest. The furnace had a little kink in the outside mesh but this is purely cosmetic and affects the functioning of not one bit. I have yet to melt metal in it but I feel very confident that it will perform handsomely, the free crucible tongs that match the style of crucible are such a nice touch and save you more money on a bargain priced item. In this case bargain price does NOT mean cheap and nasty, this thing is well made and it is weighty instilling confidence in its construction.

Excellent! Have been using it with silicone and resin. No problems. Works fast and holds pressure. Pump is fairly quiet and the unit it easy to assemble out of the box.

I'm a hobbyist just looking for a good quality tool for a relatively good price. Bought this kit to degass silicone. Delivery was fast with my order arriving just in a few days during the working week. I'm happy with the product but I am by no means an expert on vacuum chambers. Easy to assemble but you will need extra tools to put the kit together; the main tools being an adjustable wrench and a Phillips screwdriver. You'll also need to buy 'HFV 32' vacuum oil as the pump in the kit has very little. The instruction manual given in the kit is small and too vague; when it came to putting the washers on, the manual did not specify which of the two washers (rubber or metal) should go in which order. That means you'll have to trust your seller for refunds or replacements.

The one measurement that is most needed but not listed is the actual internal dimensions of the drum.For information it measures 225mm in diameter and 270mm in depth.Also, you need to be aware the instructions say not to run it without sufficient oil in the pump; but it arrives with the oil at the minimum mark!You need the right High Speed Vacuum Oil to top it up (HFV 32) ... be worth ordering some at the same time.Seems to work fine but cannot fully check because I've had to order the oil !!It also arrives in parts with no instructions on assembly ... not difficult but I assume the "O" rings supplied fit inside the brass inlet port ... cannot see where else they could go.Be advised the item comes with continental style 2 pin plug pushed into a UK 3 pin adapter this means the item is unearthed and unfused!Personally not happy with this arrangement and cut off the supplied plug and replaced with a standard UK plug fused at 5A.Other than that very happy with the unit, works perfectly.

TL;DR: Add/replace oil and calibrate the gauge, but otherwise good pump.When I first received the pump and, naturally, tried to boil some water, I was utterly disappointed. It was not reaching vacuum at all, and was getting quite hot.After reading comments to similar pumps here I've tightened all joints the best I could, but it didn't help at all.The oil level was within limits, but closer to the min level. So I decided to add some. And it did the trick, the pump pulled a fairly good vacuum, the water started to boil fairly quickly, and the gauge went below -1 atm.This brings me to the other point. The gauge is not calibrated, so its reading is not accurate. Keep that in mind.Order some oil with the pump, don't expect it to be ready to go. Mine wasn't.

Solid well built unit. Glass clear top is a bonus to be able to monitor what's happening. Good value for money. Would happily buy again.
