This review relates to the 3 Ton Air Jack with Side Handles, and overall, I'm impressed!
This Jack is heavy and takes some lugging around and moving on the ground. I have found that it is easier to slide/manoeuvre it on a rubber mat, especially whilst under a vehicle.
This Jack needs a good supply of compressed air to function efficiently and ideally, the compressor will need an Air Tank. It functions very well with my 24 litre Compressor. It also works well with a Sip Battery & Mains Compressor with 5 litre Air Tank, however, using a portable tyre inflator is a struggle and takes a long time.
The trick with using this Air Jack at its best, is to ensure it is sited 'exactly' underneath the jacking point, as having it even 10mm out of line, may cause the jack to lean and become juddery, unstable and scary. If in doubt, lower the jack and re-position it to ensure maximum stability.
Operating it is simplicity.... One lever to raise, another to lower.
I have used it to lift the rear end of a Land Rover Discovery 4 (I did need to use lifting pads placed on top of the Air Jack, due to the jack pad being too large in diameter to fit the dedicated centre of rear axle lifting point), and it performed well...... That said, the Triple Air Bags were fully inflated and at their highest pressure and God Help You, if the bag(s) were to burst/fail. You could of course make the same argument with an oil filled jack. Either way, use Jack Stands as well as the Air Jack.
All in all, Highly Recommended!
